Playday

WHAT'S PLAYDAY?

Playday is the national day for play, traditionally celebrated on the first Wednesday in August.

Playday 2012 is on 1 August.

On Playday thousands of children and their families get out to play at hundreds of community events across the UK.

As well as a celebration of children's right to play, Playday is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.

The Playday 2012 campaign is Get out and play!

The Get out and play! campaign is calling on everyone to help make sure that children and young people across the UK have the time, freedom and space to play outdoors. As well as promoting children's right to play, the campaign is highlighting that outdoor play is crucial for children's health, well-being and happiness.
