Playday 2008

Playday - Our streets too!

WHAT'S PLAYDAY?

Playday is the annual celebration of children's right to play.

Playday 2008 was on Wednesday 6 August.

On Playday and throughout the summer of 2008, thousands of children, young people and communities got out to play at hundreds of locally organised events across the UK.

The 2008 campaign theme, Give us a go! called for children to be allowed challenging and adventurous play opportunities and aimed to shake off the 'cotton wool' culture that can limit children’s play.

Over 500 events took place across the country, making Playday 2008 the biggest on record!
