Get Involved

Anyone can organise a Playday event or take part in Playday celebrations.

WHAT’S IT LIKE TO PLAY WHERE YOU LIVE?

Take part in the Playday 2010 drawing consultation and tell us what it’s like to play where you live - you could even win a digital camera!

Get involved

Whether collages, drawing, using your computer, writing or taking photographs is your thing, tell us what it’s like to play where you live and help us build a picture of play across the UK.

You don’t have to be an expert artist or skilled photographer. Everyone who sends us a picture will be entered into our free draw to have an equal chance of winning a digital camera. You might also have your work published.

We’re running this drawing consultation to gather the views of children from across the UK, as part of the Playday 2010 Our place campaign. Images should show what it’s like to play where you live, you might like to think about the following questions:

  • What do you do when you play outside?
  • Where do you go to play nearby?
  • Do you play on your own or with other people?
  • Do you play out much where you live? If not, why not?

You may wish to use the consultation template for your picture, but you can send us your entries in whichever way you like.

For adults

If you're organising a Playday event, why not print out the consultation template so that children and young people at your event can have a go?

If you work with children and young people there are lots of ways you can get them involved. Here are a few to get you started:

  • Use the consultation to lead an arts and crafts session.
  • Send templates home for children to complete with friends and family.
  • Create a display in children’s centres, libraries or other venues, with a post box for completed entries.
  • Get out and about on a sunny day and use natural resources to create a collage.

Whatever you or the children decide to do, get everyone involved and join in the fun!
