SPREAD THE WORD!
Whether you're promoting your own Playday event or
spreading the word about the wider campaign, use the official
Playday resources for maximum impact.
Playday postcard and event
poster
You can customise the postcard and
event poster either electronically or by hand - here are a few
tips to get you started!
Customising
electronically
If you work for a local authority, ask
your communications team to help you produce your event resources.
If your organisation doesn't have a dedicated creative team
but you have access to some design programmes, it's fairly simple
to add your own text and logos. You could even ask around the
office to see if there's a budding designer in your midst!
Follow these five simple
steps:
1. Download the file and save
to your computer.
2. Open in programmes
including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat
Professional.
3. Add your own (and
partners') logos and don't forget the details such as where,
when, what time and any special instructions.
4. Include some extra
text to promote your Playday celebration. Think about what will
encourage people to attend.
5. Save as a PDF ready
to print at your local printers (why not offer to include their
logo in return for free or discounted printing?)
If you don’t have access to the
necessary computer programmes, you can print the poster,
get the children and young people on your planning group involved
and enter your event details using pens, paint, stencils and
stickers. As well as having lots of fun, your young artists will
also get to display their designs across their local
community!
Don't forget you can contact
us to order free printed copies of the poster and
postcard.
Playday promotional poster
Raise the profile of Playday and
galvanise others to get involved by spreading the word across
your whole community.
As well as displaying the posters where you
work, you could ask to put them up in: Libraries, community
centres, town halls, doctors’ surgeries, health centres, leisure
centres, schools, hospitals, youth clubs, out of school clubs, play
settings, church halls, shops, police stations - and anywhere else
that will help promote Playday to your local community.
Lots of places also have stands for fliers and
other information - so don't forget to take along copies of
the Playday postcard too!
