Following on from previous years, Yorkshire Coast Homes are once again organising a celebration on the beach for National Play Day, to celebrate all the fun that children can have at the seaside! The National Playday campaign is calling on everyone to help make sure that children and young people across the UK have the time, freedom and space to play outdoors. As well as promoting children's right to play, the campaign is highlighting that outdoor play is crucial for children's health, well-being and happiness. The events will have a Brazillian/Olympics theme and will have fun sports related activities such as beach volleyball, penalty shoot outs and games. The children will also be able to make Brazilian related crafts such as making their own carnival masks to take away with them. Throughout the event there will be samba/junk band workshop provided by the Stephen Joseph Outreach Department available for children to learn and take part in band performances. In addition there will be regularly organised sporting games and activities by Active Coast & Country Sports Activators for children to take part and enjoy.
